Golfers Win PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fl. -- With Cal State Dominguez Hills maintaining a two-stroke lead after yesterday's second round of the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championships, weather suspended today's third and final round before finally being canceled altogether, giving the Toros the tournament title in just its second year of participation.

Bret Gleason led the Toros with his 150 (76-74), with Ryan Saldana finishing behind at 151 (78-73) as the Toros bested runner-un Texas A&M International after finishing third in last year's tournament.

Senior Brantly Blew finished at 156 (80-76), with seniors Shane Kowal (77-81-158) and Cameron MacDonald (75-83-158) rounding out the quintet.

"It is tremendous to have our four seniors finish their Toro careers with a National Championship," begins an ecstatic head coach Ron Eastman.

"They battled yesterday to stay in front and held off a hard-charging Texas A&M team," he continues. "Bret Gleason made a 30 foot birdie putt on 18 to give us the lead, and we are all very proud to represent Cal State Dominguez Hills in a national venue."
