Young Named Wilson/CCAA Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK – Cal State Dominguez Hills outfielder/first baseman Matthew Young has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) baseball Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 30 - May 6, it was announced on Monday.

Young, a junior from Moreno Valley, Calif., batted .467 (7-for-15) with five runs scored, a double, triple, home run, three walks and two stolen base while recording a .556 on-base percentage and .867 slugging percentage in four games against Cal State Dominguez Hills. His performance helped the the Toros gain a split of their series with Cal State San Bernardino.

Young hit safely, scored a run and had an RBI in three of four games as the 2012 season came to a close for the Toros.
