Jessica Hall's 1st-team NFCA All-Region Nod Leads Three Toros Named to NFCA Teams

Jessica Hall added another award for her stellar season, a 1st-team NFCA nod
STARKSVILLE, Miss. -- Junior third baseman Jessica Hall was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association's 1st-team All-Region selection, it was announced earlier by the NFCA, leading a trio of Toros chosen to NFCA teams.

Senior outfielder Khryssi Steele and junior pitcher Stephanie Jimenez were named to the 2nd-team to round out the Toros named.


Senior Khryssi Steele rounded out the three total Toros selected with a 2nd-team All-Region honor as voted on by Sports Information Directors from the West Region.

Hall has enjoyed a breakout junior campaign, adding today's NFCA 1st-team selection to her 1st-team Daktronics All-Region and 1st-team All-CCAA honors, as well as a 1st-team Capital One Academic All-District nod. 

The third baseman
was amongst the CCAA leaders in offensive categories for the 2012 CCAA Co-Regular Season Champions, and boasts team bests of .355 batting average, 41 runs and 65 hits entering this weekend's Super Regional.

Named the NCAA West Region I Most Outstanding Player after earning all three wins to help the Toros to this weekend against defending NCAA Champion UC San Diego, Jimenez picked up a 2nd-team NFCA All-Region honor after earning 1st-team Daktronics All-Region accolades and 1st-team Capital One Academic All-District honors.

The Norwalk native l
eads her team with a 25-5 record and 1.58 ERA, posting 193 strikeouts against just 34 walks in 204.0 innings of work.

Steele, meanwhile, adds her 2nd all-region nod after earning 2nd-team Daktronics All-Region honors that followed a 2nd-team All-CCAA award earned prior to the CCAA Tournament.

The senior speedster currently is batting .326 after starting all 57 games played, adding 59 hits, 34 runs scored, 13 RBI and 4-for-6 in stolen bases.

Of the 26 total selections on the two teams, the CCAA boasted 19 players selected, with all 13 1st-teamers comprised of CCAA schools.

CCAA regular season co-Champion CS Monterey Bay boasted four 1st-team selections, with CCAA Tournament Champion UC San Diego and Chico State both placing three on the 1st-team.

NFCA member coaches in each of the eight regions selected this year's All-Region teams and all honorees now are eligible to be selected to one of three All-America teams, to be announced later this month.
