CARSON -- What a debut!  In only her first 42 minutes in the Cardinal & Gold, junior transfer Taylor Canatsey scored her first-career hat trick to give the No. 4 Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team a 3-0 win over visiting Concordia (CA) to open the 2010 campaign.

The Garden Grove native began her career night by taking a cross from fellow newcomer Natalee Simon, and beating Eagle keeper Bekah Garvin on a one-touch near post for a 1-0 lead at the 42:23 mark.

That's where the score remained until late in the second half when Canatsey doubled the score after a feed from Brooke Thompson deep in the Eagle zone, again beating Garvin near post for the score.

Canatsey completed her memorable night six minutes later after collecting a loose ball following a free kick behind the Eagle defense and knocking in the final of her three goals uncontested.

Keeper Alyssa Congdon and the Toro defense did the rest, limiting the visitors to just five shots on the night, compared to 15 total for the potent CSUDH offense.

Canatsey talled nine of the team's attempts, with six on goal as the Toros improved to 5-1 in their last six home openers.

CSUDH continues non-conference action on Saturday as Vanguard pays a visit to Toro Stadium, located at the Home Depot Center's Track & Field Facility, with first kick set for 5:00 pm.
