WALNUT CREEK -- Just one year removed from placing a record number of student-athletes on the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic team, Cal State Dominguez Hills was represented by 26 students on this year's list, just missing last year's total by one.

Of the 26, 11 were repeat honorees led by volleyball's Ashley Clark, who made her third-consecutive list in three years, with men's basketball's Robert Willhite, volleyball's Marissa Anderson and Heather Rushton, women's soccer's Jasmin O'Brien, Amanda Murray, Karina Jahn and Alyssa Congdon, track's Dora Baldwin and Judith Fisher and softball's Jessica Marlow enjoyed their second-straight selection.

“This just goes to show that our student-athletes are students first, and that academics is the reason why we are here and our first priority," begins CSUDH Director of Athletics Patrick Guillen

"I am extremely proud of our students' work in the classroom and the positive results that have come from their diligence to their studies.  My congratulations go to all of them for this academic achievement and the great recognition and pride it brings to all of us here at CSUDH.”

For the second third-straight year and fourth time in five years, women's soccer fielded the most recipients with six honorees while volleyball came in a close second with four.
