Athletics Tees Off With 20th Annual Toro Scholarship Golf Classic on June 25

Toro Scholarship Golf Classic

CARSON -- Cal State Dominguez Hills Athletics' 2010 Toros Scholarship Golf Classic is set for Friday, June 25, at the stunning Rio Hondo Golf Club in Downey, California. 

The Classic, which serves as the major fundraiser for the Toros athletics program, again is close to selling out its foursomes for the fourth-consecutive year, with all proceeds going towards student-athlete scholarships.

The day begins with a 10:30 am registration, followed by a boxed lunch accompanying an 12 noon shotgun start.  The four-person “shamble,” a modified scramble format, will include contests for closest to the pin, longest drive, and a hole-in-one, along with many other surprises for the day’s participants.

Following the day’s play will be a silent auction consisting of many unique items to begin at 5:15 pm, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm, distribution of awards and prizes at 6:30 pm, and the always-exciting live auction to conclude the day, set for a 7:00 pm start.  Additionally, opportunity drawings will take place throughout the afternoon featuring CSUDH merchandise, apparel and other valuable prizes.

Only a handful of foursomes remain in the tournament, so reserve your spot today by downloading the information brochure and submitting it to the Athletics Department.  In addition to participating in a foursome, sponsorship packages are available to help fund student-athlete scholarships for the coming years.
