Diego Turoldo and Ernie Ramos Named Daktronics All-Americans

Diego Turoldo (left) and Ernie Ramos picked up their first career All-America honors today
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Senior Diego Turoldo (left) and junior Ernie Ramos both were named Daktronics All-Americans this afternoon, as voted on by members of CoSIDA, the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Turoldo earned a 3rd-team honor while Ramos was named an Honorable Mention All-American.

Turoldo added his first-career All-America honor to last month's 1sts-team All-Region and 1st
-team All-CCAA selections after leading the Toros to the CCAA Title game.  As one of only two Toros to start all 21 games played, he finished the regular season 9th in both points and assists in the league, and ended his four-year career 2nd in assists and 3rd in goals and points on the 2010 squad.

Named a 1st-team All-Region and 1st-team All-CCAA selection in first year as Toro after replacing a two-time NSCAA Player of the Year on the backline, Ramos' first-career All-America honor came after helping lead the Toros to 12 shutouts and 4 games with just 1 goal scored.  The Rialto native provided leadership to an inexperience defense en route to starting 16 of 19 games played on the backline.

Of the 13 first-team, 13 second-team, 13 third-team and 21 honorable mention selections, just two CCAA members in CSUSB keeper Tanner Olinger and UCSD defender Jared Kukura earned 2nd-team honors, while CSUC's Ferid Celosmanovic joined Turoldo on the 3rd-team, and CSUSB's Obi Agwu and SSU's Ryan Hall joined Ramos as honorable mention selections.

CSUDH, which finished 14-5-2, will return 19 players in 2011, after bidding a fond farewell to 9 seniors.
