Toros Top Spring Honor Roll With 76 Selected

CSUDH Presidential Scholar and volleyball middle blocker Heather Rushton led the spring 2009 honor roll recipients with her second-consecutive straight A semester
CARSON -- Cal State Dominguez Hills Presidential Scholar and volleyball player Heather Rushton (pictured) earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the spring 2009 semester, an effort equaled by by track and field's Stacey Ahaiwe and Judith Fisher and men's basketball's Robert Willhite to top the athletics spring semester honor roll that highlighted a total of 76 Toros who earned at least a 3.0 GPA during the spring 2009 term.

Rushton, a sophomore middle blocker who also earned perfect marks in her first semester in Carson, was the lone student-athlete who maintained her perfect 4.0 effort from the fall in leading 15 Toros who earned at least a 3.80 GPA in the spring.

All 11 CSUDH sports boasted at least two student-athletes on the list as women’s soccer topped all Toro teams with 16 athletes named to the spring honor roll.  Baseball followed with 11, with women's basketball's 10, track & field and men's soccer's nine, volleyball's eight, softball's five, cross country and men's baskeball's three and golf's two rounding out the spring recipients.

This semester's total was just two off the fall honor roll's count, when a record 78 Toros received the recognition.
