Carson, CA -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills soccer programs are pleased to announce the dates for the 17th Annual Travis Jackson 6-A-Side Boys and Girls Soccer Tournament, scheduled for July 25 & 26, 2009, on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills.
This tournament, formerly known as the "South Bay 6-A-Side" when hosted by South Torrance High School, was renamed in 2001 after the passing of Travis Jackson in 2000.
Jackson, a 1999 graduate of South Torrance where he was an All-CIF Goal Keeper for the Spartans, attended L.A. Harbor Junior College and was on track to transfer to Cal State Dominguez Hills when his life tragically was taken in a car accident.
The 6-A-SIDE tournament is a fun and high-scoring event, enjoyed by players, coaches and parents alike. The spirited atmosphere of the tournament is geared toward mirroring the way Travis lived his life.
