Regina Farfan Named Daktronics 1st-Team All-Region Selection

San Francisco, CA -- Senior pitcher Regina Farfan added to her list of honors this morning after being named a 1st-team Daktronics All-Region selection, it was announced by the Regional Coordinator, and voted on by members of CoSIDA.  This is Farfan's first career All-Region award.

After claiming 1st-team All-CCAA honors, the NFCA Pitcher of the Week and two CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors, the Chino native claimed the All-Region accolade after posting 25 wins on the regular season that put her 6th in the NCAA, and topped the CCAA by seven wins.  Farfan also led the league in innings pitched after the regular season (next highest is 93 innings less), finished 3rd in batters fanned looking, 6th in batters fanned, 9th in ERA and 10th in opposing batting average en route to setting the CSUDH single-season record for appearances and games started.

CCAA Regular Season Champion Humboldt State placed three players on the 1st-team, while CCAA Tournament Champion CS Monterey Bay claimed one 1st-team honor.

Farfan was the lone Toro selected for All-Region, and was joined by Sonoma State's Lindsay Emmel, who claimed Pitcher of the Year honors, and UC San Diego's Kristyn Lesovsky, who was named Player of the Year.  All 1st-team selections now qualify for All-America honors, to be announced later this month.
