"The Mid-Week Peaks" - A Look at the Toros in the NCAA National Rankings - 4/22/09

Carson, CA -- In week three of "The Mid-Week Peaks", the Toros still hold strong with five student-athletes representing seven top-10 marks in the NCAA individual statistics rankings. Still the single hardest batter to strike out in all of Division II, senior #Liz Vazquez# played her last home game on Toro Diamond this past Saturday and led her team to a series split with UC San Diego.

Overall, CSUDH athletics has six student-athletes ranked in the top-30 representing 19 different marks in the NCAA D-II statistical rankings. As the seasons of softball, baseball and track & field drive towards post-season play, the Toros have the base to represent CSUDH well in all three sports in championship play.

Every Wednesday the Sports Information Office will release "The Mid-Week Peaks" rankings to keep you informed on where our outstanding student-athletes stand in comparison to the rest of the nation.
