ST. GEORGE, Utah -- Senior Tim McGrath was the lone Toro to shoot at least 50% from the field en route to a team-best 14-point, 10-rebound night, but Cal State Dominguez Hills fell behind 42-20 after the first half as it shot just 27.4% from the floor in tonight's 69-49 loss to host Dixie State in front of an announced crowd of 2,413 in Burns Arena.

The Toros started off well, scoring the game's first 7 points, including the first four on dunks by McGrath to open the game, followed by a Stephen Faulkner rim-rattler.  That was as good as it would get for the Toros, however, as the hosts out-scored CUSDH 42-13 the rest of the half to take control of the game for good as Dixie State out-shot its guests 55.6% to 28.6% in the first 20 minutes of play.

Dixie State's lead hovered around the 19-point mark through 10 minutes of the second period, before a McGrath trey and Jamel Ward bucket cut the lead to 51-37 with 10:48 left in regulation.  DSC, however, scored consecutive buckets to increase its lead back to 18, pushing it to as high as 26 at 69-43 with 2:16 left in the game, before settling for the 20-point win.

Faulkner added 11 points and 10 boards to give the Toros two players with double-doubles, but the hosts' 1-2 punch of Tom Whitehead and Donovan Plunkett tallied 33 combined points in the runaway win.

The Toros ended the game with a 27.4 shooting percentage from the field, compared to Dixie's 48.1% for the game.  CSUDH out-scored DSC 29-27 after the break, but couldn't make a dent in its 22 first-half deficit.

CSUDH, 0-2 to begin the year, begins CCAA Conference play on December 3, as it travels to Sonoma State for a 7:30 pm tip in Rohnert Park.
