ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Reigning NSCAA Player of the Year Kevin Gallaugher and senior midfielder Andrew Marinez both were selected as Daktronics 1st-team All-Region selections, highlighting five Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer players named to All-Region squads, it was announced today by the Daktronics coordinator in a vote of West Region Sports Information Directors.

With their 1st-team selections, Gallaugher and Marinez are now eligible for All-America consideration.

Senior midfielder Scott Mariano and senior defender Marco Pulido, along with freshman keeper Markus Dickerson all were named to the 2nd-team as 16 California Collegiate Athletic Association men's soccer players were selected to the two squads.

Gallaugher had another stellar season in his final campaign in Carson, helping lead the Toros to 11 shutouts in their 18 wins on the year, including two in the NCAA West Regional and in 6 of the last 8 contests.  The four-time All-American also sits third on the team in goals with 6, converting on all 5 penalty kicks attempted en route to 3 game-winning scores.

Marinez, who was named to the 1st-team All-CCAA prior to the league tournament, currently sits second with 9 goals this season, also adding a team-best 7 assists.  The Santa Monica native has 4 game winners, including two consecutive to close the regular season and to open the men's first CCAA tournament semifinal.

Mariano again was a solidifying presence in the Toro midfield with 3 goals and 3 assists, and 23 starts in 24 games, with Pulido proving a worthy complement to Gallaugher on the backline en route to 24 starts this season.  On the heels of claiming CCAA Newcomer of the Year honors, redshirt keeper Dickerson is one shutout and three wins away from tying the CSUDH single-season marks in those categories after posting 11 shutouts and 18 wins this year.

The Toros, at 18-5-1 entering Sunday's NCAA quarterfinal, will face top-ranked Fort Lewis College for a berth to the Final four.  The last time these two powers met was in the 2005 NCAA quarters, also in Colorado, as the Skyhawks took a 3-2 overtime win en route to the NCAA Title.  First kick is set for 1:00 pm MST.
