COSTA MESA, Calif. -- After three weeks off the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's cross country team closed out the regular season with a fair showing at the 20th Annual Vanguard Invitational. Gabriela Rubi led her teammates in the 5k race with a time of 19:35, placing her in the top-50 at 48.

Taking second for CSUDH Erica Biehl, like Rubi, posted her second best time of the season with a final mark of 20:30, landing her at 77th place.

Fellow CCAA runner Vivian Wadeck of Cal State L.A. took first in the race with a time of 17:23.

Taking third and fourth for the Toros were Dora Baldwin and Nidia Padilla with respective times of 21:13 and 22:55, both season bests for the athletes.

Ines Mendoza (23:15), Destiny Tyler (23:18) and Janette Morfin (23:38) rounded out competition in the race for the Toros.

As a team, CSUDH came in with an average of 21:29, shaving 37-seconds off the team's first 5k race earlier this season.

The Toros will take two more weeks of practice and training before heading to the CCAA Championships hosted by Humboldt State. The 6k race is set to begin at 9:00am on October 24.
