Ashley Clark Jump Starts Toros Track & Field on Day One of the Aztec Classic

San Diego, CA - Volleyball player turned track and field athlete Ashley Clark recorded the top Toro finish of the day in the long jump on day one of the Aztec Classic, hosted by San Diego State.
Clark, a freshman from Bakersfield, CA, who was a starter on the Toros volleyball team earlier this season, made the most of her third competition as a member of the track and field team, and first attempt in the long jump this season, capturing a fourth place finish with a leap of 4.94m.
The fourth place finish placed her ahead of multiple jumpers from Division I UC Riverside, Palomar, San Diego Mesa, and Southwestern.

200 meter dash: Judith Fisher (27th, 27.10), Brigayle Iglehart (30th, 27.34), Ashley Clark (46th, 31.06).
400 meter dash: Monique Joseph (7th, 1:00.24).
800 meter run: Kelly Corral (10th, 2:34.43)
Long Jump: Brigayle Iglehart (11th, 4.48m - 14’-08.50”)
Javelin: Judith Fisher (7th, 35.92m - 117’-10”)
The Toros remain in San Diego tomorrow, to compete in day two of the Aztec Classic.
